Sigma Chi Zeta was chartered on a vision of two Mississippi Sorors who found their Zeta roots at the University Of Mississippi, Tau Eta Chapter. Over the years, these two Sorors carried a special bond and knew the meaning of true sisterhood.
Soror Lisa Jones moved to Nashville, TN in 1991 and has remained active through the Epsilon Alpha Chapter at Tennessee State University and later the Nashville graduate chapter Pi Zeta.
Soror Barbara Knox moved to Murfreesboro, TN in 1997 and joined the Nashville graduate chapter Pi Zeta. After rekindling their friendship through membership in Pi Zeta, Sorors Jones & Knox decided Zetadom expansion was warranted to further the reach of service for the Sisterhood. They began the necessary recruitment and steps to establish and charter a graduate chapter in Rutherford County, TN.
